MEBA METAL BAND SAWING MACHINES GMBH

The leading manufacturer of band sawing machines, MEBA Metall-Bandsägemaschinen GmbH from Westerheim in the Swabian Alb, opened a branch in the Indian market in April 2012. This is also associated with the official start of its own sales and service activities in India by means of an office in the greater Delhi area - both accompanied and supported by Dr. Wamser + Batra GmbH from Bochum.

MEBA was one of the first companies to specialize exclusively in band sawing machines since 1958 and is one of the world's leading manufacturers in the industry. Numerous awards underline MEBA's innovative strength and continuous contribution to significant developments in band saw technology. The product spectrum with over 50 models ranges from semi-automatic to fully automatic machines for trade, metal and steel construction, vehicle construction as well as mechanical engineering and heavy industry.

An initial market reconnaissance trip with Dr. Wamser + Batra in 2011 showed the potential available in India on the basis of many direct discussions in the market (with market participants such as sales representatives and customers, as well as visits to production facilities and the competitor). "For us, based on the knowledge gained from the market trip, it is the right time to now become more involved on site in the long term and to position ourselves accordingly," says Mark Diener, managing partner of MEBA. "We want to be where our customers are in the future, and one of our growth regions will certainly be India."

The consulting firm Dr. Wamser + Batra, which specialises in India, has established a subsidiary company for MEBA on site, as well as carrying out the important personnel search for an Indian managing director, and has been significantly involved in the development of sales activities. "Dr. Wamser + Batra has proven to be a committed partner who also has a representative office very close to us in the Stuttgart area. Investing the 'apprenticeship money' in expert advice to avoid a possible false start in the Indian market has demonstrably paid off for us," says Diener.
